Keri, Designer + System Strategist
The bee farmer needed a website.
I’m Keri. A farmer’s daughter, a former touring singer, and the person behind Studio Magic.
I grew up in small-town America, in a family that knew how to work with what we had. My mom had an entrepreneurial spirit, and I wanted a microphone. Pageants, talent shows, any stage that would have me. If there was somewhere to sing, I wanted to be there.
By fifteen, I’d earned a record deal. For the better part of five years, I toured the United States and parts of Europe with two of my best friends. Music was what I wanted to build my life around.
When our group went separate ways, I kept going. Sometimes that meant working two or three jobs while putting myself through college. I studied music and business at ACM@UCO, started a local band, and had a lot of fun making a name for ourselves.
Eventually, though, I realized I no longer wanted music to be my career. Letting go of that meant figuring out who I was going to be next.
I worked in Oklahoma tourism, then took a chance on an Oklahoma City startup. Four months after hiring me, it closed its doors.
By the summer of 2016, I was bottling honey and selling it at a local farmers market.
The bee farmer needed a website. I needed my next chapter.
I had never built a website before, but I was willing to learn. So I got to work.

"Magic flows out of the tricks you don’t see. It is the magician’s way of weaving what is right in front of your eyes with something subtle, something hidden. It is a blending of your expectations of what should happen with the delightful surprise of something far more creative."
- Walt Disney

I'm a System Strategist
I can look at an idea, a project, or the way a business operates and begin organizing how it should work digitally.
I think about the people involved, the information they need, the steps they take, and the tools that support them. Who needs access? Where should information live? What happens after a request comes in? What can happen automatically, and where does someone need to make a decision?
I’m often thinking through the operational details people haven’t realized they need to ask about yet.
That comes naturally to me. For a long time, I assumed everyone thought this way. After nearly a decade of working with business owners, I’ve learned to recognize it as one of my strongest skills.
It’s how I turn a collection of ideas, tools, and processes into a clear plan for a website, a workflow, a client portal, or a custom application.
That’s the thinking behind Studio Magic: understanding how your business works, organizing what needs to happen, and building the digital pieces that support it.
